Business FAQ

What is Papermotion?

Papermotion is a wedding album with an embedded video player.

Can I load videos onto Papermotion myself? How?

Yes, Papermotion acts like a thumb drive when plugged into your computer's USB port with a standard micro USB cable (included). You can easily drag and drop new files onto it or delete old files.

What are the screen dimensions?

The screen is 7" diagonal, or 6"x 3.36" and 1024 x 600 pixels.

What are the dimensions of the cover?

The cover is 8.3" x 5.9" and 0.62” thick when closed.

What resolution should my video file be?

The screen is 1024 x 600 so for the best result we suggest exporting your file in this size which is easily done in any video editing software like Adobe Premier or Final Cut Pro. Here is a tutorial for how to do this in Adobe Premier.

What file types does Papermotion play?

Papermotion plays all the standard file types mp4, mov etc. You can find details on our recommended file formats to use with Papermotion here.

How long can the videos be?

The short answer is 4+ hours. Papermotion has 4GB of internal storage. A video file formatted at the screen resolution of 1024 x 600 and with a 5 Mbps bit-rate you should be able to get at least 4 hrs of video onto a Papermotion.

Things like bit-rate and compression settings can make video file size vary dramatically. If you want to get an estimate of what file size your video will be given your preferred settings we suggest checking out this Video Filesize Calculator.

Does Papermotion play 1080hd or 4k video?

Papermotion plays 1080hd videos but it does not support 4k videos. We recommend you export files in the Papermotion screen resolution (1024x600) as the playback performance will be better and you will be able to store longer videos on the device. You can learn more about how to do this here.

How long does the battery last?

The battery lasts about for about 2 hours of continuous play. It can last for  12+ months on your shelf until it needs to be recharged.

How does it charge?

It charges with a standard micro USB cable which is supplied with each device.
