How to Use Papermotion at Expos & Trade Shows
Running a booth at a wedding expo or trade show can be overwhelming and stressful. Potential clients are walking up to your booth and there are other competitors on display. You want to stand out, leave a lasting impression and start earning the trust of potential clients. This is a lot to do in your first interaction and it can take a lot of multi tasking.
Papermotion is a great tool in situations like these because it can help communicate the values of your service and spark conversations. People most likely have never seen a video album so you will stand out in their mind just by having something unique and novel at your booth.
Here are some tips and tricks we have learned using Papermotion at expos and trade shows that get more clients interested in your services...
Have a couple Papermotions loaded with samples of your work and client testimonials for people to pick up and pass around. If there are more people at your booth than you can talk with at once these can be a great way to keep people engaged and build their interest while they wait to speak with you. It also keeps people at your booth longer and the more you draw a crowd the more people will want to see what is going on at your booth. A busy booth draws more people.
Load examples of your work from a variety of different venues (beach, mountain, city etc.) so you can hand a client work that matches their vision of what they want their wedding to look like. The more you can personalize your pitch the better.
You can load multiple files on your Papermotion but we suggest you have a couple devices and dedicate each one for a certain purpose this makes it easier to get the right content in peoples hands quickly. So for example you might have a Papermotion for client testimonials, another for beach wedding venues, and another for mountain wedding venues etc. We recommend using a minimum of two Papermotions, one dedicated for client testimonials and one for examples of your work.
A note on how powerful and important client testimonials are. 72% of consumers say positive reviews and testimonials make them trust a business more. —BigCommerce, Inc. Customer testimonials have the highest effectiveness rating for content marketing at 89%. —Boast.com A 2014 study found customers spend 31% more with businesses who have good client testimonials. —Spectoos. If you can only do one thing, load a Papermotion with your client testimonials. If you can’t physically take your previous couples to the show, this is the next best option.
Pro Tip 1: One of the easiest ways to get video testimonials from clients is to make it part of your hand off meeting. Once they have everything in their hand it’s a perfect time to capture their testimonial. Ask if they would feel comfortable explaining on camera what it was like working with you. Keep it simple by asking only 1 or 2 questions. Some great questions are:
Why would you recommend our services to someone?
What was your favorite part of working with us?
Why did you pick our service?
What was your favorite part of the video or what was your favorite photo from the wedding?
Pro Tip 2: Expos can be noisy. We suggest adding subtitles to your testimonial videos.
